Observing the World Cup 2022

The World Cup 2022 will be televised on Fox, FS1, Telemundo, and Universo, and fans in the US can watch matches online on Fox Sports App and Peacock Premium.

Matches begin quite early in the morning for most Americans because the tournament is being played in the Middle East for the first time, with matches beginning at 5 a.m. ET (2 a.m. PT) for the first week of the competition.

Fortunately, the USA’s group stage matches at the World Cup will all kick off at 2 PM ET/11 AM PT.

How to Do Soccer Betting Research

It’s crucial to do some research before putting any bets, just like with any other form of sports betting. After all, this is the first FIFA World Cup that Americans are able to legally wager on online.

There are several websites with statistics and forms where you may look up teams, past games, forms, and different statistics. Keep in mind that during the World Cup, a lot of form and quality is thrown out the window, but here are a few websites to guide you as you make your World Cup predictions.

World Cup Betting Strategies

Many people will be unfamiliar with soccer betting, but there’s no doubt that you’ll want to participate in the biggest soccer tournament, if not the biggest sporting event in the entire globe.

Group Stage Parlays are sometimes successful.

One of the biggest thrills in sports betting is hitting a parlay, and the World Cup is no exception.

The top team in the tournament and the weakest team in the competition have vastly different levels of talent, despite the fact that the tournament pits the 32 best teams against one another.

Take a look at some of the group-stage matchups we’re getting. South Korea and Germany? Spain-Iran? Belgium-Tunisia?

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of surprises at the World Cup, but these matches appear to be quite one-sided based on the calibre of the players and world rankings.

A great chance to pick on some of the poorest teams in the competition is during the group stage. Before things get more complicated in the knockout rounds, you can connect wagers involving these overwhelming favourites together into a parlay.

History is largely meaningless.

The same teams would undoubtedly keep coming up if you questioned casual soccer fans on the street about which teams have the best chances of winning the World Cup. Without a doubt, countries like Germany, France, Brazil, and Argentina are among the favourites, but in this case, it makes no sense to let the past determine the future.

The Bursa Asian Handicap is only held once every four years, therefore the team from the most recent competition may look considerably different from the one from four years prior. The players will also have aged four years, and while some may have improved, others may have declined.

Spain, which took home the Cup in 2010, is a shining illustration of this. In 2014, the Spanish team included many of the same players, however, they lost in the group stage. For you casual soccer gamblers, don’t just pick the biggest names and nationalities because history doesn’t mean anything.

Betting against well-known teams that will be vast favourites early on has a lot of potential benefits.

Find the undiscovered jewels

There will undoubtedly be some surprises along the way, even if a home side like Germany or Brazil often wins the World Cup. While betting against such teams is certainly not advised, the early rounds do feature some worthwhile underdogs.

Look no further than the 2014 World Cup, where Colombia took the world by storm while countries like England, Portugal, Spain, and Italy were defeated in the group stage. Consider the European Championships from the previous year, where Denmark advanced to the semifinals.

If you know your soccer, there are a few teams who could defy the odds and they might be worth a wager. Because I know you were curious, my hopes are for Japan, Ecuador, and Canada to all advance from their respective groups.

Betting on the World Cup: Dos and Don’ts

DO

  • Wait for the lines to form. Sometimes it can be advisable to hold off on putting your bets until clubs disclose their Starting xis, which usually happens an hour before the start. Even though this is when the lines tend to shift the most dramatically, a player’s availability can have a significant impact on a match.
  • Think about the situation It’s a strange statement to remember, but stay with me. During the World Cup, emotions are amplified because so much is at stake, therefore the soccer players might act differently. Given the excitement of the game, you might see more yellow cards and possibly fewer goals in the final stages as teams are less hesitant to attack.
  • Play the underdogs Soccer on a global scale is incredibly unpredictable and prone to shocks. When you couple it with the previously noted home/road tendencies, bettors should avoid betting only on favourites. Therefore, gamblers should always give the underdogs a chance, whether they are taking them outright on the Moneyline or on the goal line.

Don’t

  • Don’t PLAY MASSIVE PARLAYS This may contradict some of the advice i’ve already offered, but there is a significant distinction. Although it’s fairly simple to end up with a massive 14-leg parlay, it’s very possible that at least one team will disappoint you. If you can locate some good odds and competitive lines, a smaller, four- or five-leg parlay would be the better bet and could even prove to be more rewarding.
  • Bet with feeling Soccer gamblers generally have a strong desire to back their favourite teams, but this can frequently impair judgement. Betting with your mind rather than your heart is advised for all sports. Due to the USA’s failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, this is the first competition in which US citizens can legally place bets on the USMNT. Avoid being pressured into betting on the USA to win every match because it’s highly improbable.
  • Betting on each game Without a question, the entire month-long World Cup is one of the best times to be a sports fan, but resist the need to wager on every match. Choose when to bet and look for markets and lines that you believe will be beneficial. Although betting on every game can seem entertaining, I can practically assure you that it will not be successful.

The World Cup winner will be.

Making an unequivocal forecast is the best thing you can do, whether it’s for a personal wager or the company sweepstakes. France and Brazil are the two favorites for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, but we have our own pick up top!

Although we predict that The Netherlands will win the championship this year, we have also included our “dark horse” prediction in the form of the brutally competitive Uruguayan team. For further information on those suggestions and advice on where to place those bets, look at the top of the page.

What are the World Cup schedules for 2022?
